Knowing from a personal experience with our mom in need of a lung transplant, there was a family who made the descision to donate, and because of that descision, our mom and others were given a better quality of life.
Our mother passed away 13 months after the lung transplant, ( not transplant related ). Her feelings, as well as ours, were to find ways to promote and educate the public about the dire need for more donors. My family and I have continued this effort in hopes to help those on waiting lists, and those who will need transplants in the future. Our goal is that someday, there won't be a waiting list, but that the organ will be available when needed.
Because of the families who have donated organs to help save lives, we had 13 months longer with our mom, breathing on her own, having a normal life. These pages are dedicated in her memory, to those families who have made donations, who will make donations, and to those who dedicate their lives in helping to save lives. Hopefully, working together we will make a difference, as TIME is running out for so many !

There are so many waiting with hope that an organ or tissue will be found in time, so they may have a better quality of life without any more pain and suffering. We were one of the fortunate ones after many months of waiting, never knowing if it would be in time. But there are so many who aren't as fortunate, because of shortage of organs and tissue that are needed.
to all of us, and the best gift
you could ever give to anyone, is
By your saying yes to donating precious organs and tissue, your loved one has given hope to others, who otherwise would not have it. Giving sight to a blind person who has never seen a sunrise, or giving sound to someone has never heard a bird chirp, or to know that a child who only knew life from a bed with having to be on oxygen, could now experience life with other children, breathing on their own.
As a recent example, a man had been waiting for approx. 4 years for a heart. His family received a call stating that their daughter had been in a car accident and was on life support. They needed to know if they knew their daughters wishes regarding being a donor if placed on life support. They said that she wanted any organ donated that would help save a life. The family then received a call from the transplant team that their daughters heart was a match for her father. The family all agreed that this is what their daughter would have wanted. The father had the transplant and his daughter not only saved his life, but many others, as well.
YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE !
